Lumieria

Light sculpture and interactive art · Dave Loomis

Lumieria began as my studio and is now my personal art practice.

The pieces here are earlier work. I've learned a lot since they were made, and new work is on the way.

Earlier work

Blade at night: a tall, twisting fabric sculpture glowing green against a dark desert.
BladeA large, electronically lit fabric-and-metal sculpture: the tip of a seedling pushing up out of the desert floor, its green light animating from within after dark.
A three-armed wall sculpture lit from behind with blue light.
WallshipsA series of wall-mounted light sculptures that can sit quietly as decoration, respond to people, or display live data as light.
SpinXSWAn interactive light sculpture made for SXSW, played from visitors' phones and previewed live in the browser.
The original Lumieria homepage: two large gears labeled Technology and Design turning around a circular viewport, with six discipline icons around them.
The Lumieria machineLumieria's original front page, an interactive kinetic machine: Technology and Design turn as two linked gears, driving the work around a live viewport. See it running (best on a desktop).
