Overview
Blade is a large, electronically lit, fabric and metal sculpture. It is intended to represent the tip of a large seedling, just pushing out of the ground, and into the world.
Inspiration
Blade's color and energy is meant to 'pop' in direct contrast to the dry and dusty desert it is deployed in, representing the blade of grass' vibrant new life in contrast to its surroundings. At night, from a distance, the internally animated green lighting toys with an explorer, appearing and disappearing in the dark -- luring a curious soul into the beautiful darkness towards the siren's song of a distant nighttime mirage.
